  • September 2014: Congratulations to our former students: Jake Unger who will be joining the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre as a first year corps de ballet member and Danica Paulos, who just signed a contract with the Alvin Ailey company in New York City.

  • August 2014: Congratulations to our student Amber Ray who attended the Bolshoi Ballet NY Summer Intensive, where she received the First Place Female full scholarship award to train and perform at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow for two weeks.

  • May 2013: Join us for our Spring Recital at Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre on Saturday May 25th at 1 pm and 5 pm.

  • November, 2012: Join us in our newly remodeled studio for a holiday celebration with Scenes from the Nutcracker staged by Vladimir & Nina Kolesnikov. Performances are on December 1, 15 and 22 at 7 PM. There is a limited number of seats for each performance, so reserve yours today!
  • September, 2012: After upgrading our studio facilities and expanding the program, we are happy to welcome everyone back to a new fall session! We have added a contemporary dance class with Amanda Kofsky for Advanced levels and a new introductory program for beginners. This year, we will be working on a Nutcracker Suite staged by Vladimir Kolesnkov, which we will present in house at the end of 2012 and in a theater in 2013!

  • August, 2012: Congratulations to our student Jolie Moray on her performance of the Peasant Pas de Deux variation from Giselle in the Young Ballet Medal Winners Performance program at the XVII Annual International Ballet Festival of Miami 2012.

  • July, 2012: Read about exciting summer news from our students:
    • Bella Carey was one of 15 American high school ballet dancers selected for the prestigious NSLI FOR YOUTH full scholarship Program – funded by the U.S.Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs – to spend six weeks of the summer 2012 studying Russian language, culture and ballet at the renowned Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow.

  • Many students attended summer intensives: Seaf Hartley (Joffrey Chicago International), Jolie Moray (Jose Cerrano Dance Festival; Bolshoi Ballet Academy in CT), Clara McNeal, Abigail Ullendorff, Amber Ray, Teryn Colmery, Ariana Kalamaros (Bolshoi Ballet Academy in CT), Bella Carey, Kalea Power (Bolshoi Ballet Academy in NY)
  • Emma Benja was accepted to a year-round program at Ellison Ballet in New York City after completing their summer intensive.

  • June, 2012: We received some great news about three of our former students. All of us at YGSB are so proud of them and wish them the best of luck!
  • Indiana Woodward has been accepted as an apprentice to the New York City Ballet company at 18 years of age in only her 2-nd year in the advanced level at SAB.
  • Zinnia Nomura, currently studying at the University of Music and Dance in Mannheim, Germany has been accepted at the Hamburg Ballet School. She will be in Theatre Class level 7.
  • Julia Goldani-Telles landed one of the leading roles in the new ABC Family TV series Bunheads as Sasha, "the congenitally talented dancer" according to LA Times. Check it out on Mondays at 9 PM.
